Working with Amber

What does a consultation cost?

Nothing. There is no fee to talk with Amber and you are never billed for her time.

How does Amber get paid?

If you buy a policy, the insurance company pays her a commission. You do not pay her directly and the policy does not cost more because you went through an agent.

Do I have to buy anything?

No. You can ask questions, get the information, and leave it there. Plenty of people do exactly that.

What happens on the call?

Amber asks about your situation first. Who depends on your income, what you owe, what you are trying to protect. Then she explains which types of coverage fit that picture and what each one would mean. You decide what happens next.

What should I have ready?

Nothing formal. A rough idea of your household income, any mortgage or major debts, and any coverage you already have is plenty. Please do not send medical records, Social Security numbers, or account details through this website.

Coverage and eligibility

Will I qualify?

Nobody can tell you that before you apply, and you should be careful with anyone who says otherwise. Eligibility and cost are decided by the insurance company through underwriting, based on your application. Amber can tell you what the process looks like and what tends to matter.

Will I need a medical exam?

It depends on the policy and the insurance company. Some require an exam. Others ask health questions instead. Amber can explain what applies to the options you are considering.

How much coverage do I need?

It comes out of arithmetic, not a rule of thumb. Income to replace, debts that would remain, costs still ahead, and coverage already in place. Working through that is most of what a first consultation is for.

How long does it take to get covered?

That varies by policy and insurance company, and depends on whether underwriting needs anything further. Amber can give you a realistic expectation once she knows which option you are pursuing.

Which insurance companies does Amber work with?

That comes up on the call rather than on this website. Which companies are appropriate depends on your situation, and listing them here would suggest a recommendation before anyone knows anything about you.

Privacy and contact

What happens to the information I send?

It goes to Amber so she can contact you about your request. She does not sell it. The Privacy Policy sets out what is collected, why, and which service providers handle it.

Will I be put on a marketing list?

No. Sending the form asks Amber to contact you about a consultation. It does not sign you up for a marketing campaign.

How do I stop being contacted?

Tell Amber, in whatever way is easiest. Reply to an email, say so on a call, or phone (866) 21-AMBER ((866) 212-6237). She will stop.

Which states can Amber help in?

California and Texas. If you live elsewhere, Amber Early is not able to assist with life insurance in your state right now.
